just picked up a 52" 650. question about TOC.

by Brosenbrose / December 15, 2008 2:57 PM PST

when we first plugged it in, it lit up red before we even turned it on. but by the end of the first night the TOC light was no longer on, whether the tv was on or off. ever since, ive been digging through the menus and the manual trying to figure out how to turn it back on... to no avail, of course. i even tried unplugging it for a minute, since when it was first plugged in it lit up, but no dice. i suppose i just havent been able to find the TOC on/off option in the menu yet...

help?

Brosenbrose,

Touch of Color refers to the red bezel design on the units. There is no light effect whatsoever to make the TV glow, or produce light of red, or any color whatsoever except from the picture panel itself.

In reply to: Touch of Color..

I just purchased a PN58B650 and there is no ToC.

I checked the same model at Sears today, 10/23/09, and the ToC is very evident. I checked the same model at the store I bought it from also today and no ToC on the 650

Did Samsung do away with the ToC on the Plasma 6 series?

Thanks,

ToC

Some models are Red, some are Grey. The bezels are not lighted. They just pick up ambient light. If the room is dark you won't see it at all.

TOC on plasma

Yes, both rooms were a bit dark when I was looking for it. I took a much closer look with more light on and can see the color. I guess it is much fainter than it was on last years' model. I guess I was a bit too quick on the draw.

Thanks for the reply.
