configure the router as a DHCP server (it will hand out the IPs, same job that ICS does). Turn off ICS to eliminate conflicts with the router.
Welcome to the wonderful world of broadband.
It is set up on my XP Pro computer. I am getting a NIC card for my Win 98 SE computer, have a router [overkill I know], and want to do nothing except share the internet connection. The two systems sit next to each other, have their own printers, so I have no interest in networking in the true sense. Win 98 SE used the MS CD so it has ICS from microsoft.
What is the best way to share the cable modem connection???
