it seems there a lot of creative "work arounds" being employed here to circumvent the rules. I would fully have expected that. I could have no idea if forum moderators anticipated such and had contingency plans drawn up or just have to fly by the seat of the pants and hope their responses are acceptable and accomplish the task of keeping members under control and in line with the mission desires of the owners. Rules and laws can be enforced by reacting to violations of the letter or intent.
I will add that, IMO, the more intelligent and well behaved can understand and adhere to the intent. The rest must be made to adhere to the letter.
Has it become "political" or "religious" to refer to Rosie O'Donnel as blubber butt or saying that someone terrorizes their teenagers by makiing them watch Rosie on "The View" if they get out of line.
If not, could it be that someone takes such as some kind of "personal attack" despite her not being a CNET community member and thus subject to the same treatment given President Bush (references to "shrub" and Bushies etc.?
I would really like to know because it seems like the rules for posting lately are about as solid as running water or shifting sands.
