Just bot a Sony DSC-H50--auto power off is every 3 minutes!!

I just bot a new Sony DSC-H50 camera and like it in every way EXCEPT it has an automatic 3 minute power off function. Is there any way I can increase that time limit? I am taking sports pictures and expect that to be a big pain! I do hope someone can help me but I'm afraid it can't be done. Thanks.

I looked at the manual and did not find any setting in the camera to adjust the auto-shutoff. I found it in the troubleshooting section, but Sony says to just turn the power back on.
