scams like that has been going on for years. I have gotten them from all the major shippers over the years. As long as everyone remembers not to click on links in emails, there is nothing to worry about.
I just received a fake/scam email notice in my Netzero email.. It appeared to be a legitimate notice by FEDEX (there are also some going around that appear to come from USPS) and it included the text below:
___________________________________
Dear Customer,
Your parcel has arrived at December 29. Courier was unable to deliver the parcel to you.
To receive your parcel, print this label and go to the nearest office.
________________________________
It included a purple heading titled: "FedEx" and a purple download button titled "Get Shipment Label". If you pressed the "Get Shipment Label" button you were allowed to download a .zip file to your desktop which contained a .exe file inside. DO NOT download the file and by all means, DO NOT run the .exe file to create the label. It causes malware, a Trojan, to be loaded onto your computer. Luckily, I was aware of this scam, (you'll note the bad English in the text) and I didn't run the .exe file.
See the link below for a clearer picture of the malware scam email which will infect your computer if the .exe file is run from inside the .zip file.

Hope this helps.
