Juno rearranges my desktop icons

Hi, occasionally when I'm having problems with my regular ISP, I'll use Juno's free service to access the internet. As soon as I log on, all my desktop icons are rearranged. Why does this happen, and how can I make it stop? I have a Pentium 111, 800Mhz, 20GB HD, 128MB RAM, running Windows ME. I have a dial up connection and I use Mozilla Firefox browser.

Thanks for any answers! I hate having to put all my icons back in the right place!

SherA, It's Because Of Juno's Advertising Bar

The free version of Juno has a fairly large toolbar which "docks" to the top or bottom of the screen. It contains the advertisements that Juno feels obligated to run on the free version. The large toolbar, because of the space it takes up, causes the icons to be moved from the bottom section of the desktop. It doesn't really hurt anything but it certainly is an annoyance. Your situation is not unusual. I am familiar with a number of other users which have the same issue. It's a slight glitch in the Juno programming and you'll need to contact Juno if you want it fixed.

That said, both Juno and Netzero (United Online) have a Platinum service. Although it costs about $10 per month, the toolbar can be minimized, you get a full browser screen, and the icons don't get rearranged.

Hope this helps.

tufenuf and Grif, I may try that link as soon as I clear some more space on my HD! It's an ongoing problem for me.....

Grif, I'm glad to know that the moving icons doesn't mean that my machine is about to blow up or something! I did notice that mostly only the ones at the bottom were moved, even though Juno's huge toolbar is at the top of my browser. Oddly enough though, some of my other icons are moved down into the spaces where the others were moved from! Between Juno's toolbar and the Firefox stuff at the top, I have about 2/3 viewing area left.

Basically, I only use Juno for a couple of days at the end of the month. My ISP has a 200 hour limit per month, so when I go over 200 hrs, then I can use Juno to log on. I only pay $99 per year, so other than the 200 hour limit, I'm happy with the service.

Thanks again for all your help
