Junk the jank

by punterjoe / November 10, 2006 9:24 PM PST

I'm as fond of the term as anyone. To paraphrase my esteemed US Senator & former presidential candidate - "Whom among us does not like the jank?" Still, I worry that this useful term could have a very bright, short lifespan & be unusable within a few weeks because everyone's become overexposed. That would be a shame, because I suspect jank will always be with us, while the descritive word may burn out too soon.
I urge you all (especially owners of windows products & American cars) restrain yourself. Use the term sparingly. Make it last Wink

I can see your point of view, however it is such a useful word, that sometimes it just pops into place better than anything else.

Sorry to double post, but just by checking out these forums a bit, I have to fully agree with you now. The word is being over used to an extreme. Please people, there ARE other options in some cases. Use the word only when necessary.

I'm liking the sound of that... (saying with varying tones) "JENK-cast"... "JenkCast"... "jenkKast" ... "JJJJENK cast"
