.... because of the 'Nam War. I suspect there will be plenty spitting on him in death. Those will include some of his Marine "Brothers". ![]()

Quite a few were upset with him and his treatment of some Marines under accusation and figuratively have compared it to those who spit on them coming back from Viet Nam. Far as I know he never did it literally.

,.
also see that there were enough questions about the event that they did charge 8 Marines.
As of June 17, 2008, six defendants had their cases dropped and one was found not guilty. The exception is SSgt. Wuterich, whose trial date has been postponed.[12] At least three officers have been officially reprimanded for failing to properly initially report and investigate the killings.[13]
On 31DEC07, Marine Corps officials announced that Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich and First Lieutenant Andrew Grayson will be sent to court-martial for their involvement in the killing of 24 Iraqi civilians in Haditha.
* SSgt Wuterich will be tried for voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, obstruction of justice, and dereliction of duty.
* 1stLt Grayson will be tried for obstructing justice, false official statement, and fraudulently attempting to get out of the Marine Corps.
should have checked this out before he replied. 2 out of 8, so not all of them
YOU know where they aren't....tell me/us where they are now.
I can't find any info on these cases.
How is the Military handling the situation now.
Since the investigation is over they must be in the trial phase. Where ever he is, someone is collecting money NOW for a legal defense.
2010 now Getting awfully close to 3 years....the wheels of Military Justice surely do grind slowly. The finer the grinding (longer it takes) the easier it is to sweep it under the carpet.
Your link doesn't know how to spell his name correctly.
Marine Staff Sgt. Frank D. Wuterich, a family man and squad leader at Haditha incident needs our help NOW with Legal

go look under your carpet, quick!...Too Slow...it was there a second ago.
I think Murtha dissed his USMC brothers in Iraq first. But I didn't post this to get political.
I know he was past 70, but still. A close friend's mother here was past 80 when her appendix perf'ed (perforated) and she with simmering Bronchiectasis, greatly overweight and with a long standing heart condition. I warned her family that it was a very serious condition and tried to indirectly prepare them for her death. I wasn't alone, so did her surgeon and cardiologist. She died. Nine years later of her heart problem.

"The Pennsylvania Democrat had been suffering from complications from gallbladder surgery. He died at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., with his family at his bedside, the hospital said."
I believe he died after the surgery, Due to complications, which can happen to anyone after surgery.
As I understand, his intestines were perforated, and infection set in. When I was about 50, I had a perforation of my intestines and the result was a massive infection. Much later, I talked to a surgeon in the family, and he said that with such an infection, my chances of survival were about 50/50. The treatment to fight the infection was rough on me at my age, so I dare say it was even rougher on someone of his age. In my case they were able to keep my pain level down to a bearable level. Hopefully, in his case they were also able to keep his pain down.
