John Lennon's Ex Dies

Apr 1, 2015 5:22AM PDT
Cindy, dead from Cancer.

"Cynthia Lennon, the first wife of John Lennon, died in Spain on Wednesday. The author was 75 and had cancer.
"Cynthia Lennon passed away today at her home in Mallorca, Spain,
following a short but brave battle with cancer," a message on her son Julian's website
read. "Her son Julian Lennon was at her bedside throughout. The family
are thankful for your prayers. Please respect their privacy at this
difficult time."
Cynthia was born Cynthia Powell in Blackpool, England. She is best
known for being the first wife of the famous Beatle. The two met at
school in Liverpool in 1957 and were married in August 1962. The
ceremony happened just before the Beatles became famous, the Guardian reports. When the Fab Four made their debut in America on "The Ed Sullivan Show," John was introduced with the tagline, "Sorry, girls, he's married."
The two divorced in 1968 after Cynthia discovered Lennon's affair
with Yoko Ono. They settled out of court and John agreed to give her
£100,000 and custody of Julian, according to the Daily Mail."

Honored in song also by her loving son Julian, who was by her side to the end.
