Joe the Plumber running for Congress

by Willy / April 18, 2012 2:29 AM PDT

Well, it seems that 15min. of fame has mushroomed. Joe the Plumber, aka Sam Wurzelbacher is running from out local area. Running a GOP candidate makes it interesting but more so against one of the toughest and very Democratic home of popular Rep. Marcy Kaptur.

Even his own mentor of sorts may help, Sen. John McCain. So, I guess anyone can run for Congress. isn't America a wonderful country. -----Willy Happy

McCain's willingness to help him.....
by Josh K / April 18, 2012 2:49 AM PDT

.....is a sad commentary on what John McCain's career has come to. If JTP's candidacy is taken seriously by anything more than a handful of people, that's a(nother) sad commentary on what the American electoral process has come to.

McCain supports him as JTP did him

He's gotten more airtime and basically explained some of his positions. He became a GOP as not to be Democratic one and also not independent either. For the most part, he's been side-lined by the GOP but now that's he's the official runner, things are starting to line-up. Overall, he seems to be against the established set of politics here and in the Washington DC, so he's so far not been aligned too much on one issue or another than to reduce govt., reduce taxes and refrain from wars. Gee, isn't that what many want from govt. but political life dictates many things so "if" he got elected will he change? Maybe for the good or bad, but no Tea Party involvement as far as I know.

FYI- The last person to run against Rep. Kaptur seems to have gotten ensnared by his private life as a war re-actor regrettably he picked being a WWII Nazi officer and that got some negative airtime. -----Willy Happy

If you're going to play at re-enacting wars....
by Josh K / April 18, 2012 4:21 AM PDT

.....somebody has to play the enemy. I remember that and that the photos of him in a Nazi uniform did not serve him well.

In the wake of his sudden "fame," JTP said some pretty stupid things. Maybe he's a bit better informed now.

if you were being sarcastic with your last comment because I don't know what 'side' your poltics lands on, but my feelings are 'Good for Joe'. He's the only person (and not a reporter/newsperson) during BO's entire campaign that actually had the cajones to confront him with "It sounds like Socialism to me" when BO tried to explain his 'spread the wealth' garbage. A good majority of the rest of the country seemed to be hypnotized into submission with grand promises of entitlements.

Let him run if he cares to

Maybe it's about time that those claiming to be tuned into the problems of "Main Street" actually hear the ideas of one who lives on it. And please, media folks, no more assassination attempts as soon as someone shows a little bit of strength.
