Question

Job title ideas please

Mar 16, 2017 12:01PM PDT

Please forgive how dumb this might sound...

I am planing to go "self-employed" though I have a couple of very basic questions. First of all, I want to choose a job title suitable for a business card. And secondly, I want to know what the name / category of self-employment that fits me best. To help you answer this I'll give you some background.

My background is in IT but I have never considered myself a specialist in any one area. Tbh, this has caused me a lot of problems in the past; "jack of all trades but master of none". I can setup servers (web, mail etc), build web applications in php / sqlite. But tbh, I'm more an ideas person. For example, I've previously built web applications to test out business ideas e.g. local business directories.

More so, when I have ideas, I often find myself in the minority only to watch them come alive years later by someone else (I almost certainly didn't connect with the right people). But I have certainly profited from this foresight e.g. I have profited from early-ish investments into google / baidu.

In recent years, I've been dabbling with cryptocurrencies and this too has seen some success. I now have a small but regular income from this, though I don't want to stop there. I hope to diversify, try to create other income streams.. probably online but I do also have an eye to renting out property.

What is my job title? "Private Investor"?

To some it might seem like speculation / gambling, but I do feel I have a knack for seeing early trends and then managing the risk accordingly.

Thanks in advance.
