I'm having a problem playing back one tape on my old Sony Camcorder CCD-TR81. I have played back 16 tapes without a problem but this one tape has a problem.
It is a Sony Hi8 tape, and when it plays back, I can hear a virbrating type noise and the picture breaks with horizontal lines. I fast forwarded the entire tape then rewound it. That did not help. If I press the FF or RW button when it makes the noise, the picture looks ok and the noise dissapears, but when it returns to normal play, the noise returns. The problem comes and goes as the tape is played, but is present more often then not.
I swapped the tape and reels to another Hi8 tape case--that did not help either.
This only happens with this one tape and I cannot figure it out. The other tapes play without issue. (All the tapes are Sony Hi8 tapes.)
Any suggestions? I really need to capture the contents of this tape.
Thanks.
Jeff
