Qualified oponions' costs Money! Crankshaft sensor will cause more of the problem described. $100 for the sensor and $100 @ the dealers for
service and installation. Also check all relays and fuses under the hood. High mileage vehicles' should have a fuel injection cleaning comprised of fuel rail, fuel injectors, throttle body and valves' for rough idle, stalling and hesitation, check distributor cap and rotor,
if applicable! I have worked on my daughter JGCL 96/150K miles with
various engine problems!
I'm from Melbourne Australia. I own a 2001 Jeep Wrangler 4 litre manual transmission. Recently the engine started to cut out whilst driving. I had it checked and the code 340 came up most often although others also registered. The mechanic suggested I change the camshaft sensor. After some research I ordered a crankshaft sensor. I would like to know if anyone has experienced the same problem and which of the sensors they changed or if they are both the same. Its exact location would help. A qualified opinion appreciated.
