Jeep Grand Cherokee AC problem

Jul 30, 2008 7:37AM PDT

I recently paid someone to fix the problem with the AC on my daughters car. I purchased the whole vent system. When I got it back and had the AC charged I discovered that something is hooked up wrong. When you have the heat on the AC works and when you have the AC on the heat blows. the guy that fixed it now refuses to do anything about which I will handle. Does anyone know if this is just a wire that is hooked up wrong or something else.

Blend door
Jul 31, 2008 10:27AM PDT

Sounds like the blend door has a bad signal. I don't think it can be connected wrong, so he probably broke or shorted a wire.

I cant help you any more than that because my manual only covers up to 200 and I don't know the setup.

Good luck. Dave

Error codes?
Aug 2, 2008 11:49AM PDT

Ok press down your ac and recirculation buttons and turn your left temperature knob clockwise so that it clicks once. (This needs to be done with the ignition in the on position.) The screen will say "00" or it will list two digit number and repeat itself write them down then post the number here and i will tell you if the on board computer knows what is going on with your a/c.

Error code "25"
Oct 7, 2008 1:34AM PDT

I received error codes 52, 54, 56 which I have found a solution to online. However, I cannot find any info on code 25 in terms of fixing the problem. I have a few questions:

Are the codes related?

Can I fix the Dual Blend Door fix + re-circ without fixing the problem related to code 25?

Thank you!

Error code "25"
Oct 7, 2008 2:36AM PDT

The 50 errors are stored errors they are not currently affecting your hvac system. However error 25 is a calibration error which according to my resources you need to replace the PCM module. I would bring it back to the place you had it done and have them double check that you don't have a loose ground or connector that they forgot to hook back up before you go and replace it.

The 50 codes say that the doors that direct air flow have to great of a range and there for they threw up that error. I would leave those alone until you get the 25 code fixed because those are stored codes.

A/C issue
May 25, 2011 3:42AM PDT

I have a similar issue: If the A/C is on when I turn the headlights, on
the A/C cuts out and the heat comes on. At one time, turning the rear
defogger on would stop this, but now the rear defogger won't come on
with the lights on to "bypass" this bizarre arrangement. This is a 2004 Grand Cherokee V6.
