Javascript on my PC not working, help!

by jrod1985 / January 30, 2007 3:46 PM PST

Recently for some unknown reason my Javascript has stopped working on my PC when using Internet Explorer. I have tried everything, such as uninstalling and reinstalling Internet Explorer, using registry cleaners, and so on, and nothing seems to work. Javascript in Firefox works fine, but anything else does not work, and that includes trying to use applications like my Zune Installer (which must use Javascript because it does not load up at all) and some other programs which open up in windows similar to Internet Explorer. Is there any way at all to fix this without reinstalling Windows, because I appear to have lost my disk. Help!

One Quick Check.....

(assuming you mean Sun Java) go to Control Panel>Java Cup Icon>Browsers Tab & be sure you still have a check mark in both IE & Mozilla's boxes.
Put in if not there.
Note a Sun Java update has come out in last day or so, you might want to get & install it. Remember to un-install old one. Good Luck! Happy

Not Java but Javascript

Not Sun Java but Javascript... I at once thought that these two had something to do with each other but I have read that they don't actually. Java applets work fine, it's Javascript that doens't work in anything except Firefox.

jrod1985, Have you gone into Internet Options>Security tab>Internet>Custom Level button and checked to see that you indeed have Active Scripting enabled?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
