Whenever I start my MAC little snitch asks me if I want JAVA.FACEBOOKUPDATE to access the internet. I am not logged in to facebook. I do not have any internet browsers even open. So why is facebook try to get on the internet.

isnt it facebook photo uploader which is a java plug-in? probably that plug-in is trying to update itself...
