General discussion

I just downloaded Java and I was wondering why I have two Java programs listed. I only had one untill I downloaded "Open Office" then I noticed I had 2 listed in the control panel/programs. I have Java(TM)6 update 4, and right below that I have Java(TM) 6 update 7...are the 2 supposed to be listed?

Yes, They Will Both Be Listed But...

In reply to: Java

... you want to KEEP ONLY the most recent version.. So open the Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs section and uninstall the older "Java(TM)6 update 4" version, primarily because it has a few vulnerabilities the newer version fixed.

When you're finished uninstalling the older version, confirm that the new Java installation works correctly by visiting a site such as the one at the link below.. If it's working correctly, after a few seconds, you'll see the strange looking creature dancing back and forth

Hope this helps.
