Installed Firefox 1.04 on XP computer--Java works fine

Installed 1.04 on Win98SE computer---Nothing I have tried will get Java to run.

Suggestions?

Given only what is in your post, I'd go to sun.com and install a JAVA JRE. I'd also enable JAVA/JAVASCRIPT in FireFox.

Where and in what menu did you enable Java/Javascript for FireFox?

Firefox tools, options. web features, have Enable Java

Do I need more?
I find the Java site semi-bewildering so perhaps I have not been successful downloading all needed files---
