iWeb: Why is there no source edit?

Jul 17, 2007 11:31PM PDT

iWeb is amazingly easy to use to make amazing sites but... why is it missing a source editer? What I have to do to edit the source (html) is to export the site and them open the file with another application. Every time I make a change to my site I have to export it with iWeb, edit the source (google analytics, metatags and alot more) which takes a long time. I tryed using dreamweaver but it is too complicated for me. I used sandvox and rapidweaver but they are not complicated enough for me since you can only use their templates. Is there another application out there that is as easy as iWeb but also has a code editing part? What are your views?

new hope for iWeb - 08!

iWeb was never intended for power users. Really for personal web pages taht are quick and beautiful. I have done some amazing stuff but am frustrated with it.

But just yesterday Apple released iWeb 08 - and may solve some of your issues.

It will still be CODE HEAVY XML - not html. If the new iWeb does not work, try Freeway (there is a free trial download). Not too expensive and I have heard nice things about it.

I am using that and it is a decent application for producing fairly complicated websites.
