And most importantly, if it worked correctly before with this same configuration, it shouldn't stop working unless something has changed. Maybe you installed or uninstalled one of the software types recently? If so, then you may need to follow the steps in the link below to eliminate the "Upper and Lower Filters" in the registry. Incorrect registry entries in this area can cause the drive to appear to be missing to the various burning software types.:

I have a Windows XP Professional Acer computer. The product Level 3 is Veriton M460. I have recently downloaded the software for ION EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter. It automatically tranfers the cassette tape music to iTunes, which is the only option apparently.
My problem is that I can't burn onto a CD. A notice comes up that indicates that the registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs' and DVDs'are missing. This apparently can happen if there is other CD burning software on my computer. I do have Nero and Windows Media Player. It worked fine for burning 4 cassete tapes though. However now iTunes indicates that the "Disc Recording and Audio CD" is not found. The Optical Drive is detected however.
I even burned one CD using Windows Media Player. Then it wouldn't burn again!
Please help. I am a baby boomer who does not want to loose access to my old taped music!
Thank you SO much,
Pinto
