itunes substitute for Win98SE

Aug 17, 2005 10:23AM PDT

I'm looking for an itunes-like program that will run on a Win98SE machine. Specifically I need CD ripping, playlist management, music playback, and CD burning of MP3 files. Winamp comes so close, lacking only the MP3 file burning. I've tried the gen_yar.dll playlist copier, but it's a far cry from the easy burning that itunes can do.

What about...

MusicMatch Jukebox (now owned by Yahoo)? It offers all of those features and more, plus it has won PC Magazine's Editors' Choice Award for the past seven years! While version 10 is only available for Windows XP users, you can download version 9.0 by clicking here. (Personally I think version 7.0 was the best, but that's just me.)

Hope this helps,
John

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give them a try. But your link for v.7.1 doesn't work - the download button kicks me to the official v.10 download page. But I found it on oldversion.com

Tagging problems with Musicmatch
Aug 19, 2005 1:07AM PDT

I am a Musicmatch fan and bought the lifetime upgrade, but with Version 10 I can't tag my songs any more, the track info will appear but the album photo won't show. Also, when I want to see my albums by thumbnails it won't show either. Can anyone tell me if they are experiencing the same problem? What can I do? Thanks...
