iTunes replacements for iPod Touch

Nov 9, 2008 7:19AM PST

I'm trying to find an iTunes replacement that will install on the iPod Touch so I don't have to worry about iTunes. Also, could people recommend iTunes replacements that install on the computer for the iPod Touch so I can look at that route too.

Thanks!

See if FLOOLA is supporting the touch yet?

Yes, I did

I tried to find the answer, but some said yes, and some said no. I think it might, but I'm not sure. I'm just trying to not use iTunes. If I have to, I will, but I'm just trying to stay away.

What About Copy Trans?
Nov 12, 2008 11:53PM PST

Does anybody know if "Copy Trans" or "Copy Trans Manager" is compatible with the iPod Touch, and will not require the use of iTunes?

No, no and no.

" iPod Touch & iPhone ? will not work with anything other than iTunes due to Apple placing an encrypted hash key on the devices which only iTunes 7.4 and above can read to update music content. More details here , here, and here." from prior link. If you don't want iTunes, you must avoid this device.

That sucks

It really sucks that apple's trying to lock down all of their devices to iTunes. Same with Zune

love it or hate it...

That's what Apple (and Microsoft with the Zune) does. And yes it sucks. Perhaps you should look into getting a different player. Maybe an Archos 605 or their Gen 5? Maybe one of the Cowan players? I believe these are all drag and drop.
