itunes not working

Nov 3, 2007 9:08AM PDT

i have an ibook G4 (v 10.4.4) and my itunes (7.4.2(4) is now not working. Every time i try and open up itunes a message comes up stating that itunes requires MAC OS X 10.4.7 or later and directs me to upgrade from apple.com/macosx.

I have been there but can't see no info. to help.

Does anyone know what has suddenly caused this problem? I think it is probably to do with a software update - however, i can't now seem to downgrade back to itunes 7 - but then not sure if i am doing it 100% correctly.

Then upgrade to 10.4.10 already.

You said you visited the site, but you didn't say you upgraded the OS. It would seem pointless to download 4.10 software on a 4.4 machine, wouldn't it? Maybe it wasn't your fault or you didn't know. Happens a lot with computers. Like Bob said, backup your library, but I suggest just upgrading for better stability. If you don't want to, uninstall iTunes and then download an older version like you planned.

Think about it. You have a few options to work with. Hope you have some luck.
