Look for unnecessary processes and stop them. Remove unused icons from your desktop, turn off the screen saver. Turn off iTunes when you don't use it. You can use another player if the format is compatible. This will help the performance of your computer some.
I have been running Itunes since i first got my laptop..(winXP, 1.73ghz, 512MB ram, 40gbHD). and of late it has been seemingly sluggish. After updating to itunes 7.3 doing anything with itunes becomes almost unbearable. I ran a couple of tests using cacheman and upon opening itunes i lost around 30 to 40 mb of ram...is this usual and is there anything I can do even switch to another audio player(with close functionality
? I am also a casual gamer and most games lag with itunes open. Could it possibly be the size of my music library(6.05 GB)? would downgrading to a previous version of itunes help? I have also checked other forums where the same complaints are made but no solution yet. Also could changing the priority in task manager help...i don't really want to mess with those settings but if it'll help.. ![]()
Any help appreciated ![]()
