iTunes custom/manual equalizer setting for 5G iPod???

Feb 6, 2006 2:22AM PST

I'm new to this and honestly don't know jack about equalizer settings. I can't get decent sound on my new iPod 5G using any of the EQ presets, so a friend suggested that I create a custom equalizer setting that will sound good with all songs. I went to the Manual equalizer in iTunes, but have no idea what value to give each column. Please help! Thanks

What you want is a setting that takes the iPod away and replaces it with a shiny new Creative or iAudio

You won't be able to use custom EQs on the iPod itself. So you are stuck with whatever is on there.

Can I ask what do you have your files encoded as? Also what head phones are you using. I have my files encoded using LAME alt-preset-standard and I use Ultimate Ears Super Fi 3 iems. I have great sound coming out of my iPod. I also just recently purchased a Cowon A2, Cowons are supossed to be the best sounding players around. The Cowon does sound great and the iPod isn't to far behind. So if your iPod has bad quality sound it might be cause of how you encoded the mp3 files or your earbuds.
