Question

iTunes content not downloading & behaving strangely

Sep 29, 2011 10:38PM PDT

I have a new PC with Win 7 64 bit OS.
I downloaded the 64 bit itunes software.
But it doesn't seem to want to connect to itunes.

If you wait long enough the store appears as bare html links only with no pictures. And the help won't connect at all, it's just giving me the message: "iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn't connected to the Internet."

My PC clearly is connected to the internet as everything else is working fine.

Any ideas folks?

Just a quick guess

Have you tried downloading the 32 bit version?

64 bit software doesn't have to be the only choice on 64 bit OSes and any 32 bit version software will work just as well.

No, I haven't tried the 32 bit. Maybe I'll have to try it if there's no easy solution here. Thanks, I didn't know it would run the 32 bit.

Just to add, I've now run the iTunes diagnostics. It confirms that I have internet connectivity but that my Secure Link to the iTunes store has failed. There's a help button next to that error message but, surprise surprise, it doesn't work because the software won't connect! Ha! How dumb is that, lol.
