Question

iTunes changes order of audio books and tracks

Jul 26, 2012 5:41PM PDT

First post - here goes! I need some help.....

I have successfullly copied around 30 audio books to iTunes on my MAC. They all look fine, all under the Audiobooks heading - (in fact when I copy them, they are) until I open them again: Eg. 6 discs, i get all the track 1's together, track 2 and so on.

After copying I go to "get info" to get all relevant info, and change them from the Music into Audioboks section.

This does not happen when I copy the books to Windows.

How do I sort them please?

Thanks.

Answer
It's an old issue.

I have solved it by dragging them around or renaming them to lead with 00, 01, 02 etc.

There are some users that think we must not do such things. Sorry but I've lived with far worse software.

Thanks for your reply.

This would prove a mamouth task as I have almost 50 books, all jumbled up. Some books have up to 15 cd's with possibly 25 tracks each. So it is almost impossible to sort out which goes with which (it is difficult to assess how many tracks are on each disk - or indeed what book they relate to). Is there no way to "automatically sort" them?
I only got the problem when I moved them from Music to Audio Books and added the info. I have found that 4 books are ok.... defies belief.

I hate this programme - it has caused me hours of hassle. On one occasion I simply "lost" 30 books....grrrrr

As I live in Italy with no tv, I was lookling forward to listening to these books.

Something I don't call mammoth.

If I want to fix up a book to read I fix that one and then the next. It's not a mammoth task here.

I can only guess you didn't use older applications where it was even worse. Or that your books are not from the iTunes store. Those seem to be OK.
