I hit New Discussion instead of Reply. This would have been reply #5, instead I started a new discussion. I don't know that there is a way to correct my mistake to move this under Not Networking heading.
I turned off the firewall and now the three computers seem to be seeing each other. I tried clicking on the printer (HP installed on the XP computer) and each said I had to set the printer up for that computer, which I did. At the conclusion of the printer setup each printed a test page OK. I can look at files on each machine - back and forth. It looks like the only problem I still have with the network is ICS. I can obviously get on the NET from the XP machine, because here I am. But on the 98 machines, when I click on the IE icon, they sit for a while and then I get, "The page cannot be displayed." Also, something I have not seen before on both 98 machines is a double computer icon, on the task bar (simular to when the modem connects). When I hover it says, "Internet Gateway: Unconfigured." However, left or right clicking on the icon gets no response. Could this be part of the puzzle?
