For Hutaree, Militia Ethos Extended To Family Life

For the leading family of Hutaree, the armed Christian group in Michigan accused of plotting to kill police, membership in the militia went beyond paramilitary training sessions and into something resembling a full-blown lifestyle choice.

In recent wedding pictures posted on Facebook, several Hutaree members who are now in custody are shown posing in front of the militia flag with assault rifles.

Of course what can be expected from an entity called TPMMuckracker. Would the "TP" part stand for what I think it does? Wink

And led you there... Happy ( for those that can block smilies, there's a smilie there, not that I believe they can, just playing along with them)

Violent underbelly of arrested Hutaree militia members revealed

More details are emerging about the Hutaree, a militia group arrested over the weekend, that may have been plotting to kill police officers.

Political blog Talking Points Memo has dug up photos of the alleged leader of the Hutaree Christian Militia and his wife posted on Facebook. In one photo the bride, wearing a strapless black and white satin gown and pearls, carried a bouquet of peach roses and yellow snapdragons along with her assault rifle. Another photo shows a toddler posing with an assault rifle.

Rather than a traditional Christian wedding, in a church with the bride wearing a white dress, the wedding photos of David and Tina Stone (nee Kelley) show a bridal party committed to their paramilitary lifestyle.

"dug up photos" lead me to the MuckRaker Site...At least they believe in truth in advertising.

Everybody's coming from somewhere.

Even the Militia.

Do you think the photos make the Militia look bad?

I don't think the Muckraker had to photoshop the photos, to portray the Militia in a bad light,

And BTW, from what I've been able to gather

these folks are not what most real Christians would consider them to be. I personally resent them being reported in this fashion. Hiding behind a Knight's shield doesn't make one a Knight either.
