"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". Watched Again.

I then was curious about the roller coaster along the beach seen in the final chase scene. It was a Cyclone version along Long Beach at The Pike, which later became Queen's Park and no longer exists. The roller coaster lasted only 4-5 years past the filming of the movie. However that bit of trivia I chased lead to another ghoulish trivia I'd not expected, a nickel & dime sort of story any old writer of western pulp writers would enjoy.
