It is not COMPOSITE it is COMPONENT

Tom,

Please stop talking about the analog HDTV connection as composite. The composite is the single RCA plug into your TV set that barely give you VHS quality. DVD players use COMPONENT which uses 3 RCA plugs and actually gives you the full resolution of HDTV. There is a major difference in the two connections. My current HDTV turner is connected via the component connection and gives me full 16x9 1080i resolution.

Thanks
Michael Hampton
