Question

istartsurf

Apr 16, 2015 8:56AM PDT

When I open Explorer or Chrome it opens with istartsurf. I have tried many malware programs and uninstallers but it is still there. I tried a system restore but would not restore as came up with error 0x81000204. I have done a check on C drive and all OK. I have Windows 8.1 on an HP Envy machine. Have can I get rid of istartsurf?

Which malware scanners?

And did you reset the browsers? These can change the home page and most scans won't change the home page.

I have reset the home page to google search and this is OK and hitting home page button will always go to my home page, but explorer and chrome both open with istartsurf, not my home page. I would like them to open with my home page.

Yes I reset browsers. Worked OK with Chrome but Explorer still opens with Istartsurf.
