Question

issues with wdr7500 (tplink)

Aug 12, 2016 7:02AM PDT

hi guys,

Ive purchased a TP LINK WDR7500, and im having issues reaching the UI. ive connected the port 1 cable from my isp router to my wdr7500 wan port and from the wdr7500 port 1 to the pc.

I am getting an internet connection like this however am unable to reach the ui. It says in the instruction to go to tplogin.cn , however opening that page gives me a DNS error.

My CMD ipconfig:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : dynamic.ziggo.nl
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::5ce7:xxxx:d1a6:9907%5
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.178.12
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.178.1

Which is the gateway of my isp's router not the wdr7500, also when connecting the router directly to pc it gives me an apipa adres but no default gateway is listed,

Can anyone help Sad

Clarification Request
Router after router

Is unsupportable. I'd ask them how to configure it as a WAP or your ISP how to change the ISP router into a bridge.

Yea i have tried my isp router in bridge mode but then it seems like the wdr7500 is also in bridge mode as running an ipconfig shows me my external ISP IP when its connected like this.
I however noticed the "system" light was not responding when it should be flashing when operating properly, so the chinese manual said its a defect, so i have returned shipping.

Thanks for the help anyhow mr. Proffitt
