The stock contacts app is weak. I skipped the native apps for Thunderbird and it's Google Contacts noted at http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/five-apps/five-apps-that-leave-google-contacts-manager-in-the-dust/
That way, I'm not being shot down during upgrades. You can find prior screams about your issue on the web. My advice is to ignore stock apps and head to replacements that you can sync with your PC or such.
It seems that since I have upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S4 to Android I've had nothing but problems. One problem is that my contacts list seems to be messed up. Some, but not all of them are doubled. Also while they are in alphabetical order they don't fall into the proper group. What I mean is that a name beginning with the letter "A" is under the names beginning with "B". I don't know if the fact that some of my contacts are doubled has something to do with it or not. Has anyone come across this issue and how do I fix it?
