Question

Issues with 2002 Ford Focus accelerating. Please help !!

Jan 7, 2017 12:48PM PST

So I have a 2002 5 speed Ford Focus. Recently I have been having issues with getting out of first gear. The car revs for bit then slowly starts to move, But the speedometer does not move. After accelerating it the. Starts to move forward but at a extremely slow pace. It'll keep this going even when I get up to about 3rd or 4th gear. I have noticed also that the parking brake indicator light continually flashes and will occasionally stay on. The lever parking lever is surely down. Would like some ideas as to what this might be.
