There is a bad sign there's a hardware issue with that 30 minute turn on delay. http://www.cnet.com/products/toshiba-satellite-c655/ pegs it at 3+ years old so it may be at the end of its life span.
Hello, all. Today's issue is with a Toshiba Satellite C655. Currently, I dual-boot it with Ubuntu because the Windows side is corrupted. Last night, I finished using it and put it into "suspend" mode. I then walked away. When I came back it was still humming as though it were on. I shrugged, pressed the power button, and unplugged the AC adapter. Today I came back to it, found it had used up all its battery power, and plugged the AC adapter back in. It then took thirty minutes before trying to turn it on did anything but activate a green power status light. Now, it activates the light, and after a brief delay, hums as though it is working, but the screen remains dark.
