Issue with Blu-ray on BD1250

by metalliman98 / May 11, 2011 3:58 PM PDT

Hello all,

Hoping someone can help me out, as I'm getting a bit frustrated. I have a HT-BD1250. I only have a couple of Blu-Rays, one has never had any issues, the second one which I just bought is causing the trouble.

I bought the blu-ray new from amazon, popped it in, everything was fine until about an hour and a half in...the image suddenly froze, and the sound stopped. If I left it alone, it would stagger through the rest of the disc.............distorted/digitalized image, inconsistent sound. Made sure firmware was up to date, checked the disk for scratches/prints, cleaned the lens, nothing worked, it would have trouble in the same exact spot each time.

Figuring it must be the disc (as i said the other blu-ray i have has no issues), i sent it back to amazon and bought the same title from Best freezes in the exact same spot!!! Either there is a production issue with the disc (unlikely, can find any other complaints anywhere) or something is wrong with the player. Any ideas? Thanks.

As the studios create new copy protection this seems to happen more and more. Always report titles that have issues to 1800SAMSUNG or the country you are in so they can work on getting it patched.

In reply to: Title?

I figured it might be some kind of copyright thing, but found it kind of weird that roughly half the disc was watchable. Seems like if they wanted to stop pirating they wouldn't let you watch more than half the disc first.

Anyway, thanks for the tip, I'll let Samsung know what's happening. In the meantime, guess I'll take the disc back.

BTW, the title is "The Big 4 Live from Sofia, Bulgaria. Two disc set...........incidentally, the second disc ALSO cuts out at a little less than 1.5 hours.

I also think that the actual, physical production of the two discs
seems kind of sub-par...they felt rather thin and had extremely generic
labels on them (without even any copyright info or studio/label logos,

So yeah...did I just get a crap disc set or has anyone else had any issues?

I HAVE ONLY ONE MORE IDEA. Turn off the internet connection before playing these. Sometimes.
