I've also used WordPress to create a blog. So far, my blog was good. Haven't really encountered any serious concerns.

Experiences

If you keep using it for some time then the WordPress become very handy. You will be able to use the tools used for one project to another project. I believe it's better then good.

Functional

Wordpress gets the job done for basic beginners and is relatively user-friendly for a free platform. There's tons of themes and apps to integrate into your website, and many of these themes are even free and fully functional, although you will have to pay if you want access to the entire customization options for these themes.

I have started using it recently there is a free plan if you just want to check it out, there are numerous people writing blogs every day, and some are very serious in their profession, I have also used Wix it's pretty much similar, just different in customizing the theme.

Answer
Wordpress is pretty good

It is a really scalable, reliable and highly customisable system for blog posts and even more, it depends on your needs. There's a lot of info and support online, easy to set up and for average user free version is more than enough. And it has premium features if you need them someday. There are some other platforms too, but this is one of better ones.
