Is Winfixxer 2005 a good choice??

Oct 11, 2005 6:02AM PDT

I have had a few problems with my Internet Explorer lately. It won't let me click on any of the tabs at the top like...File View Tools ect and sometime it will shut down on it's own. My computer is only six weeks old. Would the free version of Winn Fixxer do anything for me or is there another suggestion? Also another window will pop up sometimes saying something like...Internet Explorer is trying to go back to a previous setting.... I can't recall the exact wording on that. Any help would be great.

Thank you

No. It's a scam or trap. Don't go near it.

See the Virus Forum about this pest.

More information please...

First, as Bob noted, STAY AWAY from WinFixer 2005...you can read about its legacy by clicking here. As far as other suggestions to fix your problem, it depends. Some initial questions include: what is your operating system, what security software (firewall, antivirus, and antispyware) do you currently use, what happened previous to the error occurring (any installations/uninstallations, system changes, etc), and what the exact error message is (make sure you write it down next time). Without more information about your system and the problem I'm limited to suggesting that you reinstall Internet Explorer. (You might find this post useful.)

Hope this helps,
John
