Is this software safe/legal to buy? im just not sure anymore

Feb 19, 2009 10:51AM PST

Hello, I am a Graphic Designer that uses softwares and programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator and I have found myself needing to use Illustrator more and more lately but the price of it from Adobe is outrages, so I went on the internet to see if I could get it any cheaper and I found a site that sell it for a reasonable price.

http://oemdatabase.net/shop/item/213/

but while I was searching for this site I came across a few websites that say it's illigal to buy OEM software and I was wondering if it is safe to buy Adobe Illustrator CS4 from this website?

Please can someone help me?

Sadly.

99.99% of these download only sites are just scams with cracked software and why anyone would give a pirate your credit card number is something we all wonder "Why?"

As Bob noted, most of these places are ...

to be avoided.

Here is a link to one place you can locate cheaper but legitimate software and while right now they appear to be out of the Illustrator they do have other software you can compare pricing on. They sell both retail and OEM packages (and some Academic if you can qualify for it) and while the prices aren't as "good" as the one you linked to they are quite reasonable and less expensive than most other places. You also do not get downloads (excepting a few that various publishers have made available), you get media.

I would not think of buying from that website just incase. I would either use another program or pay for the one from Adobe.

Better to be safe than sorry

Adobe product prices are pretty consistent every where. I don?t know how that website is selling it for that price. I would not suggest you go for it. It is always better to safe than sorry. I would recommend you to go for legitimate software. I purchased my copy from checkout software

http://www.checkoutsoftware.com/adobe/adobe-illustrator-cs4-win_p4811 .

The delivery was also very prompt. Or you can even try Amazon. See if that helps.
