Question

Is this normal?

May 11, 2018 2:32PM PDT

Is there supposed to be a BIOS Code signaling that nothing is wrong for the Alienware x51 R2? Is there supposed to be a BIOS Beep at all? Basically, when I boot up my pc, I hear a single, high pitched beep. Only one beep is present, I don't hear it again until I reboot the PC. If you need audio to better understand the beep, I'll post it.

PCs for decades would emit a single beep at power up. Today as many machines no longer do that, when a new (to you) machine comes along and beeps some thing that's a sign the machine is bum in some way.

To avoid returns some makers let you turn that beep off.

The Alienware x51 R2 is from 2012-2013, so the BIOS Beep may just be normal. Looking up BIOS signals for this PC is revealing nothing, though.
