Question

Is this MBP a good deal??

Jul 19, 2011 3:40AM PDT

Hey all,
I'm currently using a Dell Inspiron 1525, 2.00 GHz, 2.00Gb RAM and it's killing me how slow it is. It's running Vista which I think may be part of the problem...
Anyway a friend of mine has offered me a 2007 MBP for 400 pounds (650 dollars), it's in good condition but the specs appear similar. Do you think it would be worth it?
Thanks Grin

I'd say no. The year 2007 just wasn't a good one for Apple. Virtually every product line from that era had some major problems hardware wise. And while I think that system would have a Core 2 Duo, thus making it eligible to run Lion (10.7), it would be right on the edge so probably not worth it.

I would take a pass. Just spend some money to increase the RAM on your current system to 4GB and you should notice a pretty marked improvement.

This isn't a good deal. Like Jimmy said, 2007 wasn't a good year for Apple. Just get a new one. It isn't worth it.
