Question

Is this a good build for a gaming PC?

Aug 14, 2013 3:49PM PDT

I'm planning on buying a PC from http://www.maxforcepc.com/ and I was wondering if this is a good build or if there is anything I should know, add or remove and if everything is compatible. I want a gaming PC that can play MMORPGs like FFXIV, League of Legends, ArcheAge(not coming out for like a year but want to make sure I could play it on this), PlanetSide2 on their highest settings. My budget is $900 and the build is $924. I'm willing to go a little over but want to stay at $924 or go lower if possible.

Also if anyone has used Maxforce PC, how was your experience with them?

Don't build a gaming rig with a small case or a micro mobo.

When you enable max settings in games you need serious video power.
I don't think the 7750 is the best choice.

Perhaps bin the water cooling and apply the bucks to a better gpu.

The case is a full tower case looks like I missed putting it here Corsair Carbide 200R. Would this graphics card be better EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 650 1GB? Watercooling was the only options they had and it would be quieter than fans.
Btw I'm not building it myself the company does it for you. I dont want to build one myself because I don't want to take the risk of messing it up. The link to that computer build didnt include a OS and 8 would have to build it myself.

I know GPU and Graphics card are different but I'm not sure what you mean by GPU

I use tomshardware to compare GPUs on cards.

I know it's hard but folk use GPU and Graphic cards interchangeably so use the context of the discussion to figure out which they mean.

Gpu......graphics processing unit......a video card.

The 650 will be slightly better but I don't think your going to be happy if you go to max settings.

Your call.

The 7750 may not be ideal, especially if you are planning to play games, I know ArcheAge is gonna take lots of juice out of the graphics card (GPU) - imo, a better alternative would be the 7850HD (or later) - Im keeping your budget in mind.

Check the major GPU/CPU manufacturers sites (links to a $949 system with the 7850HD, and 16GB of memory! as they normally offer direct links to their partner sites, where you can get pre-built gaming rigs.

Personally, I go the extra mile on: 1) GPU, 2) CPU, 3) Mem, 4) Motherboard - and spend extra cash on an after-market cooling system!

8GB will definitely do, and as for the OS, I'd stick with Win 7 (64bit)...it's a gaming rig Laugh
