Is there audio software that can do this???

by Free Radical / October 15, 2007 3:42 AM PDT

Is there software that will allow me to edit a sound file to include audio that I create?

For example, let's say I download an audio file with Bart Simpson's
voice. I want to edit his voice to say what I want him to say.

Has anyone heard of software that can do this?

Any of the better video editors allow this.

Even the cheapest Sony Vegas can drop in another sound bite.

I never heard of Sony Vegas, so thanks for the recommendation.

I just Googled the software and it looks like it is primarily used for video presentation. Nonetheless I should be able to do what I want with this program, yes?

Audacity is not that advanced

You said you want Bart Simpson to say what you want him to say. That is the realm of science fiction right now. I have not seen any program that will do this, at least at the consumer level. Computers are just in the last decade or so being able to produce a semi-realistic voice at all, much less being able to mimic a specific voice without an extensive library of sample sound.
If this software does exist talk to the NSA or CIA, they would be the only ones with something like that. Sorry.

R. Proffit, read the question before you post. You were way off the mark.

I read that again and

Did not see you write exactly what you wanted to do. VOICE CHANGING SOFTWARE is what you are after, not audio editing.

Back to you,
Bob
