Question

Is there any way I can recover my lost apps?

Jul 24, 2015 7:58AM PDT

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and my memory was really full (couldn't update apps anymore). So I decided to buy a micro sd card for my tablet.

When I plugged it in, I started moving my biggest games (in size) and also my Facebook app, but stopped when I noticed their icons turned into green android icons. I thought it would fix itself if I restarted my tablet, but it only got worse.

The green android icons are now grey android icons and when I try to start the app it says that "app isn't installed". If I try moving it back to the device storage it says "app doesn't exist".

I really hope I can get the apps back, there was some serious progress in those games.

So far no.

For me I uninstall and reinstall apps as need be. You seem to want to do what I haven't seen folk do yet on Android.

But why?

I can handle those apps being gone forever and I have to reinstall it all again. But what bothers me is that my sd card does this to every single app I put on it. New app or old app doesn't matter, anything I put on it suddenly becomes "not installed" and turns grey.

So my 64gb card is just useless now or what?

it depends how you moved them

http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-s-8-4/404294-transferring-apps-sd-card.html shows it moving an app and folks writing:
"So only 11.25mb of the 273mb has been transferred? Did i interpret that right?"

But back to your issue. I can't know all the apps you installed. It's possible you have found a bug in Samsung's tinkering of the OS, some app that doesn't move or other.

The other I run into are fake SD cards. To test this out I slip in a known good card from my media bag.
