Question

Is there any software that allows to delete videos?

Jul 4, 2012 2:42PM PDT

I have millions of videos in my PC. Sometimes I start watching them and there are many of them that i'd like to delete. Is there any software that allows me to delete the current video I'm watching???
Thanks in advance.

No.

No such software exists because it would always automatically bring up the Windows error, "This file cannot be deleted whilst in use".

Why can't you simply stop viewing them then delete them?

to have
- a button "delete this video" in your video viewing program
- a button "delete this picture" in your picture viewing program
- a button "delete this document" in your word processing program
- a button "delete this mail" in your mail client
- a button "delete this post" in your browser when you visit the cnet-forum as a moderator
Oops, I already have the last two. But I don't have the first three.

Seems the authors the first three categories of program didn't yet program such a button.

Luckily, VLC player is open source. So anyone who wants to add such a button to video and picture viewing and audio listening program can do so himself, in principle. Or pay someone to do it. Say, it costs you 5.000 dollar to have someone do it. That's less than half a cent for each video (if you have millions of videos to delete this way). That's cheap!
