Great question.....
Lemme know if you ever get an answer.
Glad to see the engineers and hollywood finally came to some set standard.

I had the same question, as I bought a Sony KDF-55WF655 LCD Projection today, and it only has one HDMI port.

Kinda pricey. It may be a bit before I sign up for HDTV from DirecTV, so I may just hold out and see what else pops up... Good Luck!
That is a switcher not a splitter.
Heres one made by same company

This one is a real HDMI splitter, HDCP compliant. And it has 4 outputs and many other useful functions...

I have the gifin d.v.i. switcher it does the job I have the denon 2900 d.v.d. player with d.v.i. output and the dish 811 hi-def sat system with d.v.i output then I used a h.d.m.i to d.v.i adapter on the T.v. So now with the gifin remote control I can switch from my sat system to d.v.d player and the picture is STUNNING GOOD LUCK STEWART NORRIE
Yes, there is a device that will allow you to expand your TV HDMI input ports beyond just 1. See below.
HDMI will continue to be the de-facto standard in home video transmission for 2 reasons: 1) uncompressed digital format ensures the best picture quality and 2) HDMI allows content providers to ensure that their intellectual property is protected through HDCP.
It is clear that more equipment such as Cable/Satellite Set Top boxes, DVD players, HD DVD players, Personal video recorders, video game stations, and computer video cards will adopt HDMI/DVI. However, many early-generation HDTV monitors only had 1 or 2 HDMI input leaving the early adopter no way to easily add HDMI enabled sources. Furthermore many Surround Sound Audio Receivers do not include HDMI switching. HDMI switch are designed to allow end users add HDMI sources and at the same time upgrade their existing Surround Sound Audio Receiver with HDMI switching capabilities. This allows the end user to fully experience the benefits of HDMI.
HDMI switch solution include a 3x1 HDMI switch and 5x1 HDMI switch. The 3x1 HDMI switch allows the user to connect up to 3 HDMI sources and share it with 1 HD monitor or projector. The 5x1 HDMI switch are for ?power users? who intend to add in more sources in the future.

Their switch is actually a DVI switch, but all that means is just the right cables.
