Love the HV20, despite useless manual focus adjusting.
But, unfortunately, Canon thought we consumers are too stupid to know how much light a shot needs, and so you can set shutter manually (and the camera will compensate with exposure), or you can set exposure manually (and, well, you get the picture...).
Is there anything comparable (1080i, MiniDV, $600) out there that doesn?t treat you like a child?
I'd compromise on the MiniDV if necessary...
