Is there a Windows fix for...

Feb 2, 2004 3:49AM PST

...the button left behind in the taskbar after the application has been closed.

A minor irritation and caused by one of the Windows updates (I obviously don't know which one).

Just wondered if a solution has been found yet.

As such is cosmetic, no fix from Microsoft will be made.

Now to find the offending 'cosmetic update'.

Reminds me of the one that added arrows to the desktop icons.

Think I found the culprit...

...so far, at least.

I deleted the 242975un.inf for the Windows 98 Second Edition 1394 Storage Supplement.

I'll let you know if this stops the annoyance.

Thank you, Bob
