Question

Is there a way to retrieve deleted text messages from iPhone

Feb 11, 2014 12:18PM PST

I have an iPhone 3GS and would like to retrieve deleted texts but do not have a back up on my itunes or iCloud. I would not like to pay for any software to retrieve the texts, so if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate your response.

Answer
For this you'll need a court order.

Your carrier keeps them.

Court order yes......

......but no guarantee that they will available. Carriers do keep that information for only a limited time frame. It would be unrealistic to think all text messages are stored indefinitely, unless you are the NSA.

So it's that old saying?

If you have already backed up your iPhone with iTunes, you can recover deleted text messages from iPhone by the following steps using iTunes:
Click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up.
Or
Open the iOS device's Summary tab. There are two ways to access this:
Click the device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper right corner. The device button will then be visible.)
From any view in iTunes, click the View menu and select Show Sidebar. Select your iOS device in iTunes under Devices.
Click the Restore Backup button.
If no backup, I think you can use some iPhone Data Recovery tool for help.
Hope this can help you!
